When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.
Its shape is also perfect for releasing tension in hard-to-reach curves, and you can rest your face against the spikes for a subtle sensation.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

I find this pillow oddly relaxing and soothing. I certainly wasn’t expecting that but I feel like it just soothes my nervous system and brings me into a space of calm just from minutes of laying on it.

Pokey pillow
I’m glad I got a pillow to go with my mat. After reading reviews I wish I’d chosen a different pillow, as the shape doesn’t quite work for me. It’s a bit high and doesn’t support the next as much as I’d like.

From Pain to relieve
I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the pillow , bigger than I thought it would be
I can use it on my back or my shoulders and also use it as an extension with my mat . Very happy with the results for pain relief
