Shakti Love Project is our official Canadian community outreach program where we support various organizations in need around the country. Our support is given in a variety of ways from financial contributions, to fundraising events and to donated time or resources, among others.
We believe that it is important to give back to our community in meaningful ways and even though our business model is already set up to support our very own charity factory in Varanasi, India, it was important to us to also support our local communities as well.
Please feel free to contact any of these charities directly if you would like to know more about how you can support them!
If you are or know of a Canadian charity in need of support, please feel free to reach out to us: firstname.lastname@example.org.
MISSION - The mission of WISH is to improve the health, safety and well-being of women who are involved in Vancouver’s street-based sex trade.
VISION - The vision of WISH is that every woman should have access to opportunities to make free, healthy and positive choices.
CORE VALUES - Acceptance, Caring, Dignity, Respect
The WISH Drop-In Centre Society puts its mission, values, and core principles into action by providing services, supports and opportunities to women engaged in Vancouver’s street based sex industry.
WISH facilitates two front-line programs for self-identified women who are sex workers. The WISH Drop-In Centre is an overnight safe space in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where women can meet their basic needs (food, clothing, and hygiene), receive individualized support and participate in programs that engage their spirits, hearts and minds. WISH’s Mobile Access Project (MAP) Van is a mobile safe space for women. The MAP team supports women wherever they may be in the city with snacks, hot coffee and juice, harm reduction supplies, referrals and support.
WISH’s capacity building programs take the concepts of community, support, partnership, and opportunity further. These programs include the Aboriginal Health and Safety Program, the Supportive Employment Program, and the Transitions Program. WISH encourages healing and growing through programs such as the Music Therapy program and the Learning Centre, a literacy program facilitated in partnership with Capilano University. All services offered by WISH are for self-identified women only.

Gratitude Factory in Varanasi, India
The Shakti® Mat is the original and first textile acupressure mat brought by Om Mokshananda from India to the West in 2005. Since then, there have been many imitations, but none have the same core values as The Shakti® Mat.
We take pride in our corporate social responsibility by investing directly into the community that produces The Shakti® Mats. We do this through a charity operation where our The Shakti® Mats are made, the temple factory in the holiest city in India - Varanasi. Perhaps the oldest city in the world, where the sacred fires have burnt for thousands of years, we integrate devotion and work. The temple factory is built according to Vastu Shastra, which is the origin of Feng Shui, to fill the temple with harmony. All employees are women and we support them with good salaries, good working hours, good working conditions, meals and holiday pay. We also provide emplyees and their families with free health care and maintain a clean and happy working environment. Each mat sold directly supports these women and provides jobs they would not otherwise have.
