How long and how often should I use my Shakti Mat?
Ideally we recommend aiming for a minimum of 15-20 minutes. Start from where you are. If you can do more, than 20-60 minutes would be the ideal but if it is too stimulating, less time is also beneficial. We recommend regular, daily use.Can I wash my Shakti Mat?
Yes. For spot treatments between washing, use a diluted solution of Tea Tree Oil and water, spray on mat and let air-dry. When needed you can hand wash your mat using soap and lukewarm water. Remove the inner foam and wash foam and cover separately. Allow to hang dry. We do not recommend putting your Shakti Mat in your washing machine or tumble dryer as the plastic points may get damaged or may damage your machine.Should people with heart problems use The Shakti Mat?
We cannot recommend using The Shakti Mat to this group of people. Always consult your physician if you have a heart-related issues before using any therapeutic tool which affects heart rate and circulation.Is it good for pregnant women to use The Shakti Mat?
We do not recommend The Shakti Mat for pregnant women as there are acupressure points around the body that stimulate labour.Is it appropriate for children to use The Shakti Mat?
The Shakti Mat may be helpful to calm children down and relax them so try using it at bedtime.Can people on anti-coagulate medication use The Shakti Mat?
We cannot recommend people on anticoagulant medication to use The Shakti Mat.Can I use The Shakti Mat if I have epilepsy, thrombophlebitis, an acute illness or fever or have large moles, papillomas or skin inflammation?

The points may feel irritating or sensitive to inflamed skin. You may ease the sensation by placing a thin cloth between your skin and your Shakti Mat. The Shakti Mat rolls up into the tote bag to roughly the size of a rugby ball. Laid flat it measures 78cm by 42cm and weighs 500grams. Some people take the foam out so that they can squeeze it into a suitcase or backpack when they travel.
