When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. Solid pillow
I’ve been using acupressure mats and pillows for a long time and thought they were all pretty much the same, until I tried the Shakti pillow. The difference in quality and craftsmanship is immediately noticeable. From the thoughtful presentation to the premium materials, everything feels solid and well-made. I went for the Level 2 pillow, and I’m so glad I did, it’s a huge upgrade from what I was using before.

Great on its own, unsure about mat compatibility
I love lying down on the mat before bedtime, and I wanted the pillow to help support by neck and shoulders while using the mat. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it a good fit to use in this way. When placed above the mat, there is a large enough gap between the top of the mat and the bottom of the pillow where there are no acupressure points, that it misses most of my neck and shoulders. I have tried moving the pillow down and overlapping with the mat, but then it ends up being too high for the space behind my neck. I ended up using the pillow on its own when sitting upright to get some relief on my neck and shoulders. I wish it had worked out for my intended (and advertised) use, especially for the price. The quality is great and consistent with the mat.

Amazing!!
Helps so much with calming down and grounding myself, the filling is so comfortable and the versatility of the pillow helps me get into the spots I really need that would be more difficult to hit with the mat ! The green color is soooo cute too! Over all it’s a great product, and ethically made!
