When you place it under your head, neck and shoulders, it disperses pressure avoiding any pinch points. Your shoulders and neck experience a deep release that transitions up toward the top of your skull.

Will it hurt? Yes. But only for a little in the beginning.
Each spike responds to tension in your body, so more tension = more sensation. The initial “Ouch!” you feel activates your body’s pain response and tells it to send happiness hormones and pain-relief chemicals to the area you’re targeting. If those spikes aren’t sharp enough – or you’re beyond relaxed already – you won’t feel much.

Really like it!

I guess you’ve already heard the deal with these mats. It’s the feeling of going from maybe uncomfortable at first to the most relaxed and blissful experience by the time you’re done. I owned a copy mat before and then invested in a Shakti Mat because I tried a friends and was blown away by how much more spikey the spikes felt and blissful the original Shakti mat felt afterwards.

First Time Bliss - now I’m hooked!
I was nervous (maybe even a little scared!) to lay down on my mat for the first time, but I was pleasantly surprised at the immediate discomfort level - not as bad as I expected!
5 mins of light discomfort passed and slowly I noticed the warming sensation in my back, 10 mins in and pure relaxation rolled in. That was last night and I’m itching to get home from work tonight to hop on again
